Platform Planes
The DAP Platform area separates shared connection health from product-specific worker management. You manage Observer connectivity once, then work inside the Splunk Enterprise worker plane for install, enrollment, and fleet operations.

Opening Platform
Navigate to Automation Platform → Platform in the dashboard sidebar. The page opens on DAP Status — the shared connection view for your tenant.
A top-level tab bar lets you switch between:

| DAP Status | Observer API connectivity, provisioning, self-repair, and support diagnostics |
| Splunk Enterprise | Worker bootstrap install, enrollment, credentials, nodes, and inventory for Splunk Enterprise hosts |
| API Keys | Observer API keys for agents and automation |
DAP connection health is shared across all worker products. If Observer connectivity is degraded, check DAP Status before troubleshooting enrollment or plan execution inside a product plane.
Splunk Enterprise Worker Plane
Select the Splunk Enterprise tab to open the product-specific sub-navigation:

| Inventory Groups | Assign Splunk roles and availability groups to enrolled hosts |
The Install & Overview page shows the worker product badge (splunk-enterprise), the managed systemd unit name, and quick links to create a worker token or open the installation guide. Worker install snippets are blocked with a clear message until your enterprise administrator sets the tenant slug.
Product-Scoped Access
Enterprise roles can grant view or manage access per worker product plane (for example, dap:product:splunk-enterprise:view or dap:product:splunk-enterprise:manage). Members without product access do not see Splunk Enterprise enrollment or node management surfaces, even when they can view shared DAP status.
Platform operators with dap:platform:manage or enterprise administration capabilities can manage all product planes and shared settings.
Future Product Planes
The Platform tab bar is designed for additional worker products beyond Splunk Enterprise. Each product plane gets its own install, enrollment, and fleet sub-navigation while DAP Status and API Keys remain shared.
When a new product plane ships, it appears as an additional tab next to Splunk Enterprise with product-specific install and enrollment flows.
